ANDEAN BEAR (SEASONAL, AVAILABLE OCTOBER 2024)

Meet the Spectacled Bear

Also known as the Andean Bear, is a remarkable and elusive species found in the biodiverse Ecuadorian bioregion of El Chocó.

During fruit season, these master climbers ascend towering aguacatillo trees to feast on the ripe fruits; they provide essential nutrients and energy, making them a vital component of their diet. This unique coexistence between the Spectacled Andean Bears and the aguacatillo tree highlights the delicate balance of nature in El Chocó, where these bears thrive as symbols of the region’s biodiversity and essential contributors to its ecological health.

It’s an unforgettable experience you won’t want to miss!
